It's All About Teams

You’ve heard of the term ‘self made millionaire’, haven’t you? Well guess what, that’s a myth. There is no successful person from a child, to multi billionaire who did it without a team or network of individuals and systems behind him.

I think it’s amazing how so many entrepreneurs and small business owners think they can do it all themselves without enlisting a great team.

If you have watched the political transition, it is made up completely of teams. There is the transition team, the economic team, the foreign policy team the domestic team all led by its leadership the President.

Well if the President has to put together a team in order to lead the country, why do you think you don’t need a team to lead your company? Makes sense doesn’t it?

Why is a teams important to your success? Because one you can’t do it all yourself, and two teams help take your vision from concept to reality more quickly and efficiently. The team also takes your vision and helps to implement it according to your guidance and leadership.

Are you convinced yet? Ok good. So who should be on your team as a business owners. Well, there are several areas but there are 6 basic areas of every successful company:

  1. Financial
  2. Sales and Marketing
  3. Management
  4. Communication
  5. Ecommerce
  6. Health Care

Let’s examine some of the key players and components of these teams and networks.

Financial

You will want to attract people who can assist you when you need a loan to start or expand your business. You need people to help guide you through the process as well as investors and lenders who are open to your type of business.

Then there are the professionals and tools to help keep you build or rebuild your credit, protect you from ID theft, bill payment system and accounts receivables.

These professionals and tools are critical for the financial wealth of your empire n whether you starting out or expanding.

Sales and Marketing

I don’t care how great your product or service is, if no one knows about it, it’s useless. Sales and marketing are the life blood of any business, heck for that matter to any endeavor. Think about it when you were dating or looking for your first job You marketed yourself every way possible from how you dressed, your makeup and grooming to where you put yourself. Whether it was on the internet network or a social setting.

We are always selling and anyone who says I don’t like sales, doesn’t want to make any money or succeed. Nothing happens until a transaction is made. There are buyers and sellers in every situation. You are either selling or being sold, period.

So what’s needed to help get the word out about your product or service and start ringing up the sales? Glad you asked. Here are a few tools,

Press releases, PPC, classified ads, banner ads, directory listings, SEO, article submission, Video email, events, social networks, print shops, newsletters, etc.

Think about how you could rev up your sales if you decided to put your attention into just a few of these strategies and tools.

Management

Every good business needs proper management. The problem is most of the time the one doing the managing is the one doing everything else. So not much gets managed. Your job is to put together a great team and then lead them to your satisfaction.

Who’s on your management team?

Legal professionals, tax professionals, business consultants, coaches, mentors, You are going to want your team to help you set up the right entity structure, understand your tax liabilities and advantages, guide you through a business plan, be a sounding board and help keep you on track.

Telecommunication

In our high tech society it’s there is no excuse not to stay in touch with your customers and clients and for them to stay in touch with you. Here are some of the tools of the trade.

VOIP with unlimited Long distance, fax, voice mail, conferencing, IM, email, mobile
phones, Podcasts

Proper use of these tools managed properly can have your customer and clients coming back again and again because you cared enough to stay connected.

Ecommerce

No matter who you are and what type of business you have, you need an online presence. Oftentimes your website is the first place someone will go to determine more about you and your products and service. Even if you have a brick and mortar business, consumers today expect you to have a website or a blog.

Who plays a role in this team,

Web designers or DIY builder
Web hosting
Email
Domain registrant
Graphic Designer
Blog
Shopping cart
Merchant account
Streaming media

Health Care

Let’s face it, if you are not healthy and fit, you won’t be able to spend all the money you are planning to make. Also, if you can get affordable health care your business will thrive.

Team mates -

Doctors
Dentists
Pharmacy
Vision Care
Spa and Health Care

There you have it the main ingredients to a highly successful business venture regardless of the economic climate or the kind of company you plan to build or are building.

Though it may seem a daunting task to find these tools and players to participate in your game, it will be much easier if you find networks of companies that offer these services.

Join your local chamber or business network groups and ask for referrals. Talk about putting together a group comprised of your community professionals. Remember, it’s all about teams. That is what will take you to the level of success you want to achieve.

Turn Everyday Spending into College Savings!

Upromise.comWhat if you could turn your everyday spending in to college savings?

What if you could help build a home for some of the most impoverished children around the world?

What if you could do all this without it costing you a dime?

Would you consider that a pretty good deal? I thought so.

That's why I teamed up with Upromise and the Caring House Project Foundation

What's this all about, I'm glad you asked. Let me tell you about it.

I am a marketing consultant and one of my clients is Upromise is it? Upromise allows you to save toward college for anyone you designate just by doing what you
already do, shop. When you buy groceries, go out to eat, buy gas, go to your local drug store,
a percentage of your receipts is placed in a College Savings account. Join Upromise for FREE and let hundreds of America’s leading companies help you save for college
Not bad, huh?

Ok, so what is Caring House Project? I knew you'd ask that.
Frank McKinney is a Real Estate "artist";
super hero meets Robin Hood, 2-time international best-selling author (with 3 more books by 2.13.09);
risk taker & visionary who sees opportunities & creates markets where none existed before.

He is considered the Maverick real estate developer who is famous for building the most luxurious, most
expensive homes in southern Florida. In 1998 he developed the Caring House Project
to provide homes and villages for the poorest people, in the poorest locations, in the poorest cities in the
Western Hemisphere.

What do these two have to do with each other? Nothing, except I've decided to combine these two powerful
entities to make a huge difference. When you enroll in Upromise to begin building college savings, I will donate
$2 toward the Caring House Project Foundation. The idea is for a lot of people to make a big difference in the lives of millions.

My goal is to reach the $2,000 which is the donation required to attend the grand unveiling of Frank McKinney's newest project, Aqua Liana, the the most expensive green house estate and book signing on February 13. This donation will build 1/2 a home for a family in the Caring House Project Foundation.

Isn't that awesome!, So let me recap:

You enroll in Upromise for FREE and begin your college savings when you shop

  1. I will donate $2 toward Caring House Project unveiling on February 13
  2. You receive great satisfaction in knowing you are saving toward college for your loved ones
  3. and helping to build homes for some of the world's poorest children and families

It can't get any better than that. Imagine, never can so little do so much for so many. And you didn't have to spend a dime, nothing, nada, zilch!

Why not get started now. The deadline is November 30th for this promotion. So do it now while you're thinking about it.

Join me in these worthwhile projects of higher education and building homes for some of the world's poorest citizens.

Do it today!

3 Ways to Succeed in This Economy

By Brian Tracy
November 11, 2008
Excerpt From: Sales Success
Are you wondering what to do to attract clients and create a surge in sales? Are you frustrated by getting minimal response to your advertising or online promotions? Are you asking yourself,

"How can I avoid having my sales and profits dry up in this market?"

"Should I reduce spending on marketing to preserve cash?"

If you're like most business owners and marketers, you're doing everything you know how to bring in more sales, and you're still not realizing the profits you want. You've worked for years to grow your business and now a financial meltdown that you had nothing to do with is making it harder.

What can you do? You could bury your head in the sand and hope you've still got a business in a few years. You could copy your competitors' marketing, but their sales are hurting, too. Or you could ask yourself,

"Is there a way I can actually grow my business in this economy?"

Yes, there are easy and inexpensive ways to increase your profits.

Start with these 3 steps:

1. Change Your Marketing Strategy
When we get the rare cold spell here in San Diego, I change the clothing I wear. I put on a sweater or even a jacket. The same is true for your marketing strategy; when the economic climate changes, you need to respond.

In good times you can get away with fairly ineffective marketing, and the rising tide will float your boat along with everybody else's. In an economic downturn, you can't afford to be haphazard about your marketing. You'll pay the price in reduced sales. Spending money on ads or mailings that barely generate sales isn't affordable anymore.

2. Focus Your Efforts
While fusion food is popular here in San Diego, we don't have a single restaurant that is a combination of French, Italian, Mexican and Chinese cuisines. Can you imagine a pasta dish with jalapeno cream sauce and a ginger root topping? It'd taste terrible. That's not a time-tested combination of flavors; it's a mess in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, most small business marketing isn't much more than a mess in the kitchen, a collection of sales and marketing activities that don't work together. Many businesses don't grow as fast as they could because they don't have an optimized marketing strategy or a system for implementing it.

3. Use Cost Effective Marketing Strategies
Let me tell you a secret. Some of the most effective marketing and selling tools are inexpensive or even free. Most people don't use them, so when you do, you can easily beat the competition. 92% of businesses overspend on marketing. They're wasting money on marketing that isn't getting results.

You may be doing all the right marketing activities, but without an effective marketing system, you could be struggling for a long, unprofitable time. Now, thanks to marketing expert Charlie Cook, there's an easy way to transform your marketing, grow your business and maximize your profits.

Do you know how to "Ask for the Cash"

Do you know your fastest path to cash? Are you sitting on skill sets that you could turn into a cash machine and just don't know it?

In a recent message from wealth expert, New York Times best selling author, Loral Langemeier recently she had this to say about building wealth: (excerpt from her message)

A Personal Message from Loral:

"We live in a high stress world these days. If it's not one thing, it's a half a dozen others! One of the things that I can help you to let go of is the stress of paying bills and not having enough left over to live well. Are you in?"

"I'm an advocate of making more money, and that's what I teach. Not only do I believe in building wealth accounts, I believe in creating cash machines. Both of those will increase the money you have and build a solid, secure financial future that will last for generations to come. I don't want to spend my children's inheritance! And, I don't think you do either."

We all are looking for more ways to earn money or to build upon different angles for expanding what we already have.
So why don't we do it? Why are we constantly floundering?

My guess is, because we haven't found the right mentors or teachers to simplify the actions and the strategies to propel us forward.

Check out this 7-minute video from Loral Langemeier explaining her philosophy on how to "ask for the cash" and building your cash machines

Want to know more about building cash machines? Tune in to www,smallbusinessnetworktv.com on Wednesday, September 3rd at 800pm EST and hear Loral Langemeier as she helps you discover what it takes to build your cash machines and your wealth in this economy.

New Slideshow - The Things You Don't Need To Launch Your Business

By Mike Michalowicz
Author, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur

Starting your first business requires a lot. Products to sell, employees to work, knowledge to

Mike Michalowicz

be imparted... the list is endless. At first pass, it looks like you are going to need more experience, more time and more money than you could ever afford. Better pass up on launching your business. Squash those dreams! Trample those desires! Vanquish your vision! At least until someone miraculously hands you a wad of cash and a ton of talent. And you and I both know that ain’t going to happen. No way. No how.

But if you look hard enough, there are often short cuts that don’t require money or tremendous effort. Not to mention experience is overrated. Cash, knowledge and time are limited commodities. Instead, there are paths that are less traveled in the entrepreneurial world that will yield HUGE progress. Here are the top ten things you DON'T need when launching your first business!

What's the Key to Happiness?

The Key to Happiness
By Brian Tracy

Your ability to achieve your own happiness is the key measure of your success, of how well you are doing as a person.

You learn the key to happiness that has been the same through all of history. You learn how to dispel the two myths that may be holding you back and how to achieve more happiness in everything you do.

Dedicate Yourself to Your Best Talents
The key to happiness is this: dedicate yourself to the development of your natural talents and abilities by doing what you love to do, and doing it better and better in the service of a cause that is greater than yourself.

This is a big statement and a big commitment. Being happy requires that you define your life in your own terms and then throw your whole heart into living your life to the fullest. In a way, happiness requires that you be perfectly selfish in order to develop yourself to a point where you can be unselfish for the rest of your life.

Imagine if you could become a millionaire today!
Your life would be easier and more fun. You could be taking more vacations, and spending the kind of time with your family that you really want.

Please Yourself First
In Edmond Rostand's play Cyrano de Bergerac, Cyrano is asked why he is so intensely individualistic and unconcerned with the opinions and judgments of others. He replies with these wonderful words: "I am what I am because early in life I decided that I would please at least myself in all things."

Your happiness likewise depends upon your ability to please at least yourself in all things. You can be happy only when you are living your life in the very best way possible. No one can define happiness for you. Only you know what makes you happy. Happiness is an inside job.

Your Happiness is Up to You
The biggest myth about happiness is when people say that it is not legitimate or correct for you to put your happiness ahead of everyone else's. Throughout my life, I've met people who have said that it is more important to make other people happy than it is to make yourself happy. This is nonsense.

The fact is that you can't give away to anyone else what you don't have for yourself. Just as you can't give money to the poor if you don't have any, you can't make someone else happy if you yourself are miserable.

The very best way to assure the happiness of others is to be happy yourself and then to share your happiness with them. Suffering and self-sacrifice merely depress and discourage other people. If you want to make others happy, start by living the kind of life and doing the kind of things that make you happy.

Action Exercises
Here are three steps you can take immediately to put these ideas into action.

First, define for yourself the activities that you really love and enjoy, at home and work, and then organize your life so you do more of them.

Second, believe in yourself and trust your own feelings. Then, please at least yourself in all things.

Third, determine what it is that you do that brings the most happiness to others and then organize your life so that you can do more of it.

How to Use the Law of Attraction

Utilizing The Law of Attraction by Jack Canfield

The law of attraction states that you will attract into your life--whether wanted or unwanted--whatever you give your energy, focus, and attention to.

You are constantly giving off vibrations of energy when you think and feel. These vibrations can be picked up and received by other people. That's why people say, "he has good vibes," or "he gives off bad vibes." You are constantly giving off vibrations -- literally!

If you're feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, loving, appreciative, abundant, prosperous, relaxed and peaceful, you are giving off positive vibrations.
On the other hand, if you are feeling bored, anxious, worried, confused, sad, lonely, hurt, angry, resentful, guilty, disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed, stressed out, or depressed, then you are giving off negative vibrations.

The law of attraction states that the universe responds to whatever you are offering -- by giving you more of whatever you are vibrating. It doesn't care whether it is good for you or not; it simply responds to your vibration.

If you saw the film The Secret, you saw this explained in great detail.
The problem is that most of the time, you are not aware of what vibration you are offering. You are simply responding to things outside of you--current events, the news, how people treat you, the stock market, how much money you are making, how your children are doing in school, whether or not your favorite sports team wins--and then having a feeling that is either positive or negative.

When you are simply responding unconsciously to what happens around you, you tend to stay "stuck" in your current condition. This is why most people's lives never seem to change very much. They get stuck in a repeating cycle of recreating the same reality over and over by the vibration they are sending out.

It works like this... First you observe what you currently have and are currently receiving in your life. You call this your "reality." You respond to what you observe with a feeling, positive or negative, which then gives off that vibration to the universe. The law of attraction then responds to this vibration and brings you more of what you were vibrating. This keeps the cycle going over and over, until you choose to change it through the exertion of your will. You are a victim of your lack of awareness of the law of attraction.

The Process of Intentional Creation
It is possible to get out of this vicious cycle and create what you want instead of continually recreating what you already have. It is a simple three step process that you can begin immediately.

If you've been implementing the action steps I coach you through in The KEY to Living the Law of Attraction, you have already begun this process.

Step 1: Identify what you truly desire & eliminate the negative

It is important to focus on what you want rather than what you don't want. You must state it in the positive and filter out the words don't, not and no. Remember, your mind works in pictures and if you say I don't want to be mad, you are creating the picture and thus the vibration of being mad. You must create the opposite of what you don't want.

Step 2: Raise your vibration level

Your job in stage two is to create a vibrational match for that which you say you want to have. How would you be feeling if you already had those things--the perfect job, the perfect relationship, the mount of money that you want to have?
Your job is to identify what makes you feel good and do more of it, then learn not to tolerate your negative feelings.

Affirmations are an important component in raising your vibrational level to what it is you want. Remember, the law of attraction does not respond to the words you use or the thoughts you think. It simply responds to how you feel about what you say and how you feel about what you think.

For information on how to create even more effective affirmations, review chapter 10 in

The Key to Living the Law of Attraction, where you'll find my guidelines for creating effective visualizations.

Step 3. Release it and allow it.

In this third step you simply release your affirmation, your vibration, and your feelings to the universe to take care of your "request" or "order" as I call it. But you have to abstain from any doubts. If you doubt you can have it in any way, then you are not allowing it. You are pushing it away and you end up with contradictory messages to the universe
It is only when the contradictory thoughts, talk, and images are removed that your desired results will manifest. The faster you remove your resistance, the faster your dreams can be realized.

Flip Flop vs Common Sense

I've been excitedly enthralled with the upcoming election this year, so I've been watching all the news channels and talking heads. It has been amazing to me how different politics is from my small business.

I began to ponder what if our clients viewed and rated us the same way the media views the politicians? And what if the expectations were the same? I believe that would make for a very interesting business model.

In business when you come up with an idea or make a decision on a marketing plan or campaign, you test, test, test! That is the rule for determining if your plan is working, right,

And if you do it for a while and are not getting the desired results, you stop, analyze, get advice, then change your strategy. That makes sense to me, doesn't?

But as I've noticed in the news media, when a Presidential Candidate determines a plan, and then later re-examines it and makes any attempt to alter it, it's called a "Flip Flop" suggesting that it's a bad thing.

I just don't understand. When you have a business if you don't look at what's not working and make adjustments, we call that bad business. Can you imagine what would have happened to "Coca-Cola" if they had 'stayed the course' after the results of the "New Coke" came in?
Consumers would have been stuck with that horrible drink, and Coca-Cola would have lost tons of money and possibly gone out of business.

Thank heavens for the "flip flop"! Where would we be without it? Saddled with inventory we could not move, sales staff who were not producing, investments that were not performing and advertising that was not pulling.

Hmmm, it seems to me that the political media could learn a thing or two from entrepreneuers. That changing your policy or strategy from time to time, is "common sense" not "flip flopping"
and when used properly can make an extremely successful outcome.

Something to think about!

Will Video Take Over the World?

Forrester Report: Get Ready for OmniVideo

by Bill Greenwood
July 7, 2008

Consumers are ready to take their consumption of video to a whole new level, and companies looking to profit from this explosion need to act now, according to a new report issued by Forrester Research vice president and principal analyst James McQuivey.

In How Video Will Take Over the World, McQuivey lays out a vision for a world in which individuals will be able to watch video nearly everywhere on a variety of different devices, in which anyone will be able to produce video, in which remixes and mash-ups will be prevalent, and in which the video industry will become much larger and more influential than ever before. 30 Minute Email Marketing Tip

July 9th Tip: Message In An Email

MARKETING MESSAGES THAT STICK

Now you've written an award winning Subject Line, how do you maintain your customers interest in order for them to take further action? The marketing message is key in keeping your audience excited about the contents of your email, so they can make the decision to take a specific action. Remember if they have opened your email there is a level of interest, and if you follow these basic marketing message rules, you can help your customers take the next action that impacts your business.

POWER MOVES:
1. Know who your audience is, and figure out what problem they need solved related to your product or service. Create a message that shows how your business is the solution to that problem.

2. Create value by educating consumers who are prospective customers. Communicate how your product or service is unique, and why it's the better choice amongst the competition.

3. Convincing customers takes more than one attempt. Do not assume that one email marketing piece will get the phone ringing off the hook. Create a multiple email marketing campaign over a period of time, that reminds the customer of your product or service.

Business 101

Each one of us works to be financially independent and secure. Security is the magic word that makes us feel safe. We work hard to earn money so that our future is secure. But there could be unforeseen circumstances that may suddenly see all our money gone, and with it, our security. The economy that we work in is very volatile. It may see businesses prosper. With it, more job opportunities get created. We could be lulled into believing that our job is secure. A cyclical decline in the economy might suddenly find the workforce out of jobs. Large scale layoffs may send all the security notions out of the window.

Under such circumstances, one is left with very few options. One among these options is a small business. Small businesses have a wonderful concept about them. You are the boss of your time and can work as you desire. If you are looking to start a small business affiliate home based programs and home business opportunities are great to begin with. Most Popular Small Business Affiliate home based programs are getting very popular on the internet. Make a thorough search of the web before choosing a small business. Small businesses offer very good returns on low investments. Go for a business that you have some knowledge about. It should give a high degree of comfort to you.

You will need to keep certain facts in mind before selecting a small home based business. Gather as much knowledge about a particular business. Do not base your selection on half-baked knowledge. Next, collect all the necessary information on that particular business from various sources. The internet is full of information. Read as much as you can. Try to learn the ins and outs of the business. Do not hesitate to ask questions till you get the right answers on the company’s profile, the nature of their business and the business and compensation plan.
